Ingredients
  • Yellow Lentil Dal - 2 cups (396 g)
  • Tomato puree - 2 tbsp (125 g)
  • Chopped Garlic - 2 (cloves) (6 g)
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Soy Sauce - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Onion - 1 medium size
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tsp (20.8 g)
  • Baby Carrot - 1 small size (10 g)
  • Celery - 2 stalks (80 g)
  • Winters are almost here, and so soups are making their way into the kitchen. Today Fitelo presents to you one such healthy vegetable lentil soup which has healthy ingredients and will also, help you lose weight. It can be eaten for dinner or possibly with a sandwich or salad to make you more filling. So, make your way to the kitchen and start preparing!

    • Firstly, add the chopped onions and garlic cloves to a stock pot and cook until golden brown on medium flame.
    • Secondly, on other hand soak the lentils and keep them aside for 25-30 mins.
    • Thirdly, add the tomato puree and stir for about 2-3 minutes.
    • Now, add other chopped veggies and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
    • Further, drain the lentils and add them to the stock pot along with water, salt, soy sauce, and black pepper and give a gentle stir.
    • Simmer the flame and cook it for about 40-45 minutes, or until the lentils are soft.
    • Scoop out the mixture in a high-speed blender until the soup thickens.
    • Now return the blended soup to the stock pot and cook it for 5-10 mins until you get the required consistency.
    • Moreover, adjust the seasoning and top it off with some lemon juice.
    • Finally, garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot !

    Tips

    • To check the consistency using the back of a spatula or a spoon.
    • while preparing the puree, wait for the mixture to cool down before adding it to the blender.
    • You can also prepare moong dal soup if you do not want to go for yellow lentil dal.
    • Also, this dal soup can serve up to 4 people.
