Oats And Dry Fruits Modak

  • Mixed dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins) - 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  • Desiccated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Dates - 1/4 cup (Deseeded and chopped)
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
  • Oats and Dry Fruit Modak is a guilt-free indulgence that satisfies sweet cravings while providing the benefits of fiber, vitamins, and minerals from the nutritious ingredients. It’s a perfect choice to celebrate festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi with a touch of health and taste

    Ingredients: For the Outer Covering:

    1 cup oats, powdered

    1/4 cup water

    A pinch of salt


    • In a food processor or blender, grind oats into a fine powder. Transfer the powdered oats to a mixing bowl.
    • Boil water with a pinch of salt and gradually add it to the powdered oats. Mix well to form a smooth and pliable dough. Cover it with a damp cloth and set it aside.
    • In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee and lightly roast the chopped mixed dry fruits until they become aromatic.
    • Add desiccated coconut, chopped dates, and cardamom powder to the pan with the dry fruits. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes until the mixture comes together. Turn off the heat and let the filling cool down to room temperature.
    • Take a small portion of the oats dough and shape it into a small cup-like disc using your fingers or a rolling pin.
    • Place a spoonful of the dry fruit and coconut filling into the center of the disc.
    • Seal the edges of the disc to enclose the filling and shape it into a modak with a pointed top.
    • Repeat the process with the rest of the oats dough and filling to make more modaks.
