How to make it

PROCEDURE

  1. In a pan, lightly roast amaranth. Remove and set aside.
  2. Now, in a pan add walnuts and roast them and remove them.
  3. Now add mustard seeds along with whole red chilli.
  4. Cook until the dals turn golden brown.
  5. Add onion, ginger and cook until onions become translucent. Add curry leaves for a few seconds.
  6. Now add water and bring it to a boil.
  7. Add salt and add toasted seeds. Reduce the heat and cover the pan. Stir once in a while and again cover.
  8. Cook till the amaranth has absorbed water and is cooked through.
  9. Serve hot.
