Tomato Chutney

  • Oil
  • 2- 3 red chillies
  • 1- medium-size onion and tomato
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • Hing
  • 1- tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1- top urad dal and 1 top chana dal
  • This tomato chutney is spicy and tangy, and also has a pleasantly smooth texture. It’s a flavourful and mouth-watering chutney.

    Tangy Spicy Tomato Chutney
    • Firstly, in a large kadai, heat oil.
    • Add urad dal, chana dal, and red chilli.
    • Saute them on medium flame till dal turns golden brown.
    • Further, add garlic, also chopped tomatoes and continue to saute.
    • Saute till the water evaporates completely and tomato reduces in size.
    • Allow the mixture to cool completely and then transfer to a small blender.
    • Further, blend to a smooth paste without adding any water.
    • Also prepare the tempering, heat oil in a small kadai.
    • Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal, hing and curry leaves.
    • Allow the tempering to splutter and pour the tempering over tomato chutney.
