How To Make Lauki Dhokla Recipe
- Firstly, peel off the skin of a Lauki (bottle gourd) and chop it into cubes.
- Take a grinder and add ginger, chili powder, turmeric powder, and the chopped Lauki (without water). Make a paste by combining them in a blender.
- In a bowl, add Rava, besan (gram flour), beaten curd, and the Lauki paste. Add salt and mix all the ingredients with a little water.
- Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
- Further, heat a steamer or an idli cooker and grease a bowl with oil.
- Add Eno or baking soda to the prepared mixture and quickly mix it. Then, add the mixture to the bowl after greasing it.
- Place the bowl in the steamer and heat it over a medium flame for 15-20 minutes.
- Check if the dhokla is ready by inserting a toothpick. The dhokla is cooked if it comes out clean. Then, carefully transfer it to a plate.
- Take a pan, heat 1/2 tsp of oil, and add mustard seeds, hing (asafoetida), and curry leaves. Mix them for a few seconds and turn off the gas. Mustard seeds for weight loss are great.
- Lastly, pour this tadka (tempering) on top of the dhokla. Garnish with grated coconut, sesame seeds, and coriander leaves.
