Weight-loss High-Protein Idli Recipe

  • Vegetables are optional
  • Moong Dal - 300 gm
  • Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • Salt acc to taste
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • We went ahead and tried our hands on creating a high protein, low carb version of our beloved dish, and trust us, it tastes even better than the regular one. Try our Weight-loss High-Protein Idli Recipe.

    Weight-loss High-Protein Idli Recipe
    • Soak the Moong dal along with 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds for 6 hours in 3 cups of water.
    • Strain the water and transfer the soaked dal to a blender and blend it to make a smooth paste.
    • Add salt to the batter and using your hands mix the batter nicely for 1-2 minutes.
    • Make sure that the batter should have a nice pouring consistency.
    • Add 1/2 cup of Curd to the batter and leave it overnight for fermentation outside.
    • Grease the idli molds with little oil and then fill them with the batter and cook in a steamer for 10-12 minutes.
    • (You can add chopped vegetables if you want to add them at this stage)
    • Then, let it sit for 5-10 minutes and remove the idlis from the mold.
    • Serve with Peanut or Mint Chutney
    • Enjoy!
