1. Fatigue or Weakness

The primary side effect I experienced right after the donation was a feeling of fatigue or weakness. This is because your body’s blood volume decreases, though for a short time. 

Your body might take some time to renew what was lost, so ensure you give your body time to rest after the donation. To avoid this, I always stay hydrated and have a light snack afterward to help shake off the feeling.

2. Dizziness or Lightheadedness

Some donors may even experience dizziness or lightheadedness immediately following the donation. It is often due to a rapid loss in blood volume or pressure. I was pretty fuzzy during my first donation. But, the donation center staff offered me water and a snack, which settled things soon enough.
