Want a café-style toast that feels indulgent but is actually packed with protein? This Truffle Paneer Toast brings together creamy spiced paneer, crispy toasted bread and the earthy aroma of truffle oil. It is quick enough for breakfast, filling enough for a light lunch, and fancy enough to serve as a party snack.
The secret is keeping the paneer mixture creamy without loading it with mayonnaise or excessive cheese. A little Greek yogurt, herbs and truffle oil are enough to give it that rich, restaurant-style flavour.

How To Make Truffle Paneer Toast?
Step 1: Prepare the Paneer
Take 100 g paneer and crumble it finely using your fingers or a fork.
If your paneer is slightly firm, you can soak it in warm water for 5–10 minutes and then drain it. This makes the filling softer and creamier.
Step 2: Make the Creamy Filling
Add the crumbled paneer to a bowl.
Mix in:
- 2 tbsp thick Greek yogurt or hung curd
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1 minced garlic clove
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp chilli flakes
- ½ tsp mixed herbs
- Salt as needed
Mix everything well until the paneer is evenly coated and creamy.
Don’t make the mixture too wet. The filling should be thick enough to sit comfortably on the bread.
Step 3: Add the Truffle Flavour
Now comes the ingredient that gives this toast its signature flavour.
Add ½–1 tsp truffle oil to the paneer mixture and combine gently.
Start with a small amount because truffle oil has a strong aroma. You want a subtle earthy flavour rather than letting it overpower the paneer.
Add 1 tbsp chopped coriander or parsley and mix again.
Step 4: Toast the Bread
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Lightly brush 2 bread slices with about 1 tsp butter or olive oil in total.
Place them on the pan and toast until the bottom becomes golden and crisp.
Flip and toast the other side.
You can also use an air fryer or toaster if you prefer.
Step 5: Add the Paneer Mixture
Remove the toasted bread from the pan.
Spread the prepared truffle paneer mixture evenly over both slices.
Make sure you take the filling right up to the edges so that every bite has creamy paneer.
Step 6: Make It Cheesy
If you want a more indulgent café-style version, sprinkle ½ tbsp grated mozzarella over each toast.
Place the toasts in an air fryer or oven at 180°C for 3–5 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the edges become crisp.
For a lighter version, simply skip the cheese.
Step 7: Garnish And Serve
Finish with a small sprinkle of chilli flakes, freshly cracked black pepper and chopped herbs.
For an extra truffle kick, you can add just 1–2 drops of truffle oil immediately before serving.
Cut diagonally and serve hot.
Tips To Make The Best Truffle Paneer Toast
- Use thick curd or Greek yogurt so the filling doesn’t make the bread soggy.
- Don’t use too much truffle oil; a little goes a long way.
- For more protein, increase the paneer to 120–150 g.
- Use whole wheat or multigrain bread for more fibre than regular white bread.
- Add finely chopped mushrooms or spinach if you want extra vegetables.
- For a spicy version, add finely chopped green chilli.
- If you’re making this for weight management, keep the butter, cheese and truffle oil measured rather than adding them freely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Make Truffle Paneer Toast Without Truffle Oil?
Yes. Truffle oil provides the distinctive earthy flavour, but you can still make a delicious paneer toast using garlic, herbs, black pepper and chilli flakes if you don’t have it.
Can I Use Regular Curd Instead Of Greek Yogurt?
Yes, but use thick hung curd rather than watery curd. Excess moisture can make the toast soggy.
Can I Make This Recipe Without Cheese?
Absolutely. The paneer and yogurt already give the filling a creamy texture. Skipping mozzarella also makes the recipe lighter.
Is Truffle Paneer Toast Good For Weight Loss?
It can fit into a weight-loss meal plan when portions and ingredients are appropriate. Paneer provides protein, while whole-grain bread can contribute fibre. Keep calorie-dense ingredients such as butter, cheese and truffle oil measured.
